About 30 UTME candidates , who had the best results at the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination , have been offered scholarships valued at ₦15 m to pursue their higher education in various Universities The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board disclosed this on Sunday in its weekly bulletin ,  that the scholarships were provided by Stanbic IBTC . According to JAMB , the bank ’ s Corporate Investment Banking and Marketing Manager, Mrs Bridget Oyefeso- Odusami , stated this when she led the bank ’ s delegation to the JAMB Headquarters , in Bwari , Abuja . She said , “The essence of the scholarship is to enable candidates who desire tertiary education to pursue their dreams under a very comfortable atmosphere . There are some criteria for the selection of the top 30 UTME candidates . The candidates must have scored a minimum of 250 and above in the 2019 UTME , possess five credit passes in their Ordinary Level results as well as meet other specified criteria necess...

The Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, on Monday began his 14-day vacation. The state governor will resume to office on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. In his absence, his deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, will be the acting Governor  This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor of the state , Mr. Segun Ajiboye. According to the statement, the governor had informed the Ondo State House of Assembly through a letter he had written. The statement said, “Before he proceeded on the annual leave, Governor Akeredolu transmitted a letter to that effect to the state House of Assembly. “The deputy governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, is to perform the functions of the governor’s office while the governor is away. “

The United States Commerce Secretary has hereby confirmed that a ban on the Chinese technology company, Huawei, will not come into force for another ninety days. Wilbur Ross said the delay - the second since the sanctions were announced by the United States President  in May - was to assist existing customers. Mr Wilbur also said more Huawei subsidiaries would be added to the entity list, which is Washington's economic blacklist that restricts trade with United States companies. Mr President has indicated that the US is unlikely to grant the Chinese Company another temporary reprieve because of national security concerns.
